Original portfolios
On the one hand, original portfolios are created from scratch and display a specifically chosen strategy.
On the other hand, copied portfolios are copies of originals that enable people not knowing much about DeFi yield farming to look for successful originals and copy them to benefit from the strategies at play.
These strategies depend on the choice of farming strategies/YSDs within the portfolio and the allocation percentage each of these farming strategies/YSDs takes within the same portfolio.
Suppose a particular portfolio turns out to be successful with record-high profits. In that case, it might attract other users who are unable to come up with a successful strategy of their own and may decide to copy the original portfolio.
To be clear:
- The portfolio created from scratch is the original portfolio.
- The portfolio that a user copy is the copied portfolio.
The original portfolio's creator owns it unless they decide to sell it. The user who copies the portfolio owns the copy, NOT the original.
Since the original portfolio was created from scratch, it is indeed the creator of that portfolio who will benefit from all the royalties generated at each copy, not the user who copied the original portfolio.
